Our Story

The beautiful story of Living Word Chapel is comprised completely in the unique make-up of the individuals who call LWC their home. Although vastly different in their journeys, there are 3 cords that bind each of us together.

We Are…

We are real people infused with dynamic faith, committed to a common vision, joined together in the covenant love of our Creator.

We Used to Be…

We used to be completely broken but are now grateful for undeserved redemption, astonished by amazing Grace, healed by forgiveness and humbled by the divine invitation to be included in the greatest cause on earth.

We Serve…

We serve a good and perfect God. The nations are His dwelling and our lives are His vessels. We have compassion for the poor, and our hearts are open to the rich.

What We Believe

The Bible:

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and that none may add or take away from it.

+ + +

We believe in only one God, the sovereign Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe God deserves all our honor, glory and praise forever. We have committed ourselves to worship God in the Biblical balance of freedom and order.

+ + +

Jesus Christ:

We believe Jesus Christ is God who became true man united in one person. He became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. He died on the cross as a sacrafice for our sins. On the third day, He rose bodily from the dead and ascended nto the presence of God Almighty.

+ + +

The Holy Spirit:

We believe the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and Jesus Christ as being God. We believe in the Holy Spirit's immediate gracious presence and power through His fruit, gifts and ongoing enablement.

We believe all people are created in the image of God and are eternally loved by Him. However, because of our rebellion against God, all of mankind became estranged from Him. While we remain outside of Jesus Christ, we are eternally condemned by our sinfulness.

+ + +

We believe our salvation is completely dependent upon the work of God's free gift in Jesus Christ. God credits His righteousness to those who put their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. We are born again of the Holy Spirit and receive the gift of eternal life. God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, which makes the believer secure in his or her salvation. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is by the grace and power of God that gives us this security.

+ + +

The Church

We believe the true Universal Church consists of everyone who is united in the one body of Christ through saving faith in Him. The Universal Church is expressed (even though imperfect) in local congregations throughout the world. We value and respect all of God's people, past and present and desire to partner with other churches who believe the same.

+ + +

Our Purpose

We believe the purpose of the church existing on earth is to obey Christ's command to proclaim the unchanging Gospel throughout the world and to make disciples of every people group. We realize our obedience to the Great Commision will require total commitment.

+ + +

The Return of Christ

We believe Jesus Christ will come again to judge the living and the dead and to fulfill history and the eternal plan of God. The church's perfection awaits on the return of Christ.

+ + +

The End of the World

We believe God will perfect His Kingdom and we look forward with confidence and anticipation to that day. We believe in the New Heaven and New Earth, in which righteousness will dwell and God will reign forever.
